Does Your AI Receptionist Answer in Spanish?

Honest 2026 status on Spanish language support in AI dental receptionists — what Wavez supports today, what is on the roadmap, and how to bridge the gap now.

A direct, honest 2026 status on Spanish language support for AI dental receptionists — and specifically for Wavez. We would rather tell you exactly what is supported today than overclaim and lose your trust on the second demo call.

Wavez Spanish support — today vs roadmap

    > Status: This section reflects current public capability. If you need the absolute latest, ask on your [demo call](/book-demo) — we update this as language coverage ships.

    - English (US): Fully supported, production-grade voice

    - Spanish (US): Bilingual handling is on the active roadmap; full conversational Spanish is not yet generally available in production

    - Other languages: Not currently supported

Until full Spanish conversational support ships, Wavez handles Spanish-speaking callers with a bridge workflow described below — not by pretending to be bilingual.

The bridge workflow for Spanish callers today

  1. AI detects Spanish in the opening turn
  2. AI plays a brief pre-recorded Spanish greeting confirming the practice and offering a callback
  3. AI captures the caller's name, phone, and reason in a structured short script
  4. AI texts your front desk with the transcript and a recommended Spanish-speaking team member to return the call
  5. Caller receives an SMS in Spanish confirming the callback window
  6. This is not the same as a fully bilingual AI receptionist. We are not going to call it that.

    Why we are not overclaiming

Spanish dental triage is high-stakes — emergency questions, medication histories, insurance terminology. Until the AI hits the bar a Spanish-speaking dentist would set for accuracy, we keep it as a structured handoff to a human, not an autonomous conversation.

What to do if Spanish is critical for your practice

If a meaningful share of your patients call in Spanish, two options:

  7. Pair Wavez with a Spanish-speaking front-desk team member for the bridge workflow above (works today)
  8. Tell us on the [demo call](/book-demo) — Spanish coverage is roadmap-prioritized in part by practice demand, so flagging it actually moves the timeline
  9. Wavez is built for solo and small US dental practices, HIPAA-aligned with a signed BAA, $599/$999/Custom — see [pricing](/pricing).
